( Brand: Celestron ), ( Manufacturer Part Number: C80ED ), ( Model: CELESTRON C80ED ), ( Type: Cd Ed 80mm Refractor ), ( Aperture: 80 Mm )
The Celestron C80 ED, also known as the C80 f/7.5 80mm Refractor telescope, is an impressive instrument designed for astronomical observation. This telescope boasts an 80mm (3.17 inches) aperture and a focal length of 600mm (23.62 inches), providing a focal ratio of f/7.5. These specifications make it an excellent choice for visual observation of celestial objects, especially those that require high resolution and contrast.
The Celestron C80 ED is built with a high-quality enhanced multi-coated (ED) glass optic system. This advanced technology reduces chromatic aberration, resulting in crisp, clear images with accurate color representation. The optical tube assembly is housed in a robust and lightweight aluminum tube with a sleek black finish. The telescope is also equipped with a 2-inch Crayford-style focus mechanism, enabling smooth and precise focusing.
The telescope comes with two eyepieces: a 10mm Pl ssl and a 25mm Pl ssl. These eyepieces provide 60x and 24x magnifications, respectively, offering a wide field of view for sweeping the night sky or a more detailed view of specific celestial objects. The telescope also includes a 90-degree star diagonal, which is particularly useful for observers who prefer a more comfortable position while observing objects that are close to the meridian.
The Celestron C80 ED is a versatile telescope that can be used for both terrestrial and astronomical observation. With its long focal length, it's suitable for observing the moon, planets, and deep sky objects such as galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae. The telescope also comes with a sturdy and adjustable aluminum tripod and a Vixen-style dovetail mounting plate for easy attachment to various mounts or tripods.
In summary, the Celestron C80 ED is an advanced, high-performance refractor telescope that offers excellent image quality, versatility, and ease of use. Its robust construction, high-quality optical components, and included accessories make it an excellent choice for both amateur and professional astronomers.

Despite its higher cost and limited aperture, its high-quality optics, wide field of view, and portability make it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a top-tier telescope for their stargazing endeavors.
The focused is nice and smooth. Also includes front dust cap but I should point out one of the tangs had to be glued back on. Thanks Selling my Celestron C80ED f7.5 refractor. Includes rings and Vixen dovetail bar as well a 2 inch to 1.25 adapter.
A great little scope, and the same optics as Orion ED80 using FPL53 glass. Great grab and go scopes. It does not affect operation of the dust cap.
