Review ORION Telescope Refractor Spotting Scope Imaging Shorttube Super Clean

It is a wonderfully versatile daytime telescope. They are very fun to tote along in a hefty North Face backpack for viewing wild birds, distant waterfalls, and elk while hiking the Eastern Cascades of WA State. It will also have a small degree of coma on the outermost edge because this is rich field-class refractor and it was never calibrated by hand to highest tolerances standards manufacturer could offer. Though the focal length , aperture, and focuser mechanics have never changed, there are inclusions exclusions made to model as years progress fluxes in hobby shift.

This hot, new product was the answer many of us were looking for in a fun-spirited, photo-ready capable, instantly entertaining to observe with refractor. So, there was a definite market for an all-around compact refractor that affordable while not foregoing the essential qualities of properly-functioning astronomical. The Orion Mack-500 was attractive and smaller, but more limited on resolution. And the VX80 Fluorite was, well, encroaching $20 weighed over 6 pounds, and was bulky.

As a personal telescope, it has short enough focal length to scoop-up the big star regions of Orion's Sword, Hyades and Pleiades, clouds Sagittarius string open clusters in Cygnus without feeling like your too close scene. Other small refactors by other brands, such as Turkish, Astor-Physics, and Tele Vie were very expensive not all of them photographically affordable to adapt. These are the only changes. For astronomy purposes, these fill the bill in many ways.

It will also include the original large setscrew for focuser brake and holding quick release finder bracket foot. The Vixen SS-80 had limited focus draw and was very expensive. And they are a breeze to amaze company with by adding full-aperture glass solar filter and simply looking at the Sun while set up on lawn. At the time of its arrival, few refactors boasted capabilities or affordability.

Packed with great care. Other brands, like William Optics, Stellar, and Explore Scientific were barely emerging or completely nonexistent yet. It also works as a competent Moon and planet observer. It will come with the original front dust cover, underside #1/4-20 tripod adapter plate and 1.25-inch visual back setscrew.
