That filter can screw right on to the back of telescope. This is a great telescope and deal with the field flattener/reducer. The only cosmetic damage are blemishes on the outer part of optical tube, as well some notches in dovetail plate from my mount. There is cosmetic damage only, nothing that will affect performance.
