There is something small on lens has been there since I purchased, don't know if its a particle or defect. This system also reduces the astigmatism and eliminates diffraction spikes found in classical Richer-Chretien designs. No competing Schmidt-Grosgrain Telescope can make those claims. The mount also has mechanical locks in both axis allowing adjustment even without power.
